Just chiming in with a concise list of some of the BasePack issues I have run into. Some, if not all, may have been mentioned already elsewhere, but I just wanted to put the ones I've run into in one place, so forgive any repetition.

1. The Lancaster does seem overly sluggish now. I am certainly no expert on flight models, but based on what I've read and seen, the BP Lanc just seems too unresponsive. As Bertie pointed out, one can't do a famous evasive 'corkscrew'.

2. There seem to be come strange lighting issues on the Lanc. Light hitting one part seems to stop in a straight line near the wings in certain conditions. Hard to explain!

3. Also on the Lanc, the well known 'front turret doesn't traverse' issue.

4. Finally for the Lanc, the upper surfaces of the tail are not mapped properly. Some Lanc schemes should have their coding repeated on the upper horizontal surfaces of the tail, but if you try that, it looks awaful. The mapping of the tail itself and the ailerons doesn't match up properly.

5. On the Spitfire IX, the rudder is mapped funny. I tried to do a scheme where there should be a letter on the upper part of the rudder, and it just distorts horribly.

6. Also on the Spitfire IX, the stack exhaust area on the engine is mapped funny. To get the proper texture to fully cover the stacks, one has to stretch them to a point where they show up on the fuselage also, just behind the stacks.

Thanks for listening!

Hi 3dp,

well I started with FM work on fighters and I got the feeling how to do it.
If you have technical specs like speed vs altitude, climb rates, engine power , props, weight, ... of the Lanc, pls send it to me.

If I finish the early war fighters I will have a look.

cheers
Steffen

That's true.

also note: the wings of the zeros are still in low-res (not in the British BP but still they are BP planes)

And for the record (this is a very old thread),

The Lanc is improved a bit by the work put into the Interim BP Update. It's not perfect, but it is better.
