Thanks! It's also on the small single hangar roof, barracks roof and manor house roof. Also, the little tents that the balloon bases use also are covered over white.

P.S. The snow may appear a bit yellow because it is at Dawn. During mid-day it appears quite bright. I will post pics of that soon.

That's better than other reasons for the snow to be yellow Wink

Well for the main terrain tiles, I untiled the latest Somme textures and converted it to one big tif. Then I changed it to greyscale and then inverted the texture. Next I applied a cloud render filter and a canvas texture filter to a seperate layer each. I adjusted the opacity and fill until it looked close to what I was going for. Then I diced the whole thing up, recored an action to change back all of the tiles to RGB first (To keep the off-white look from changing it to greyscale) then to index. I ran a Automate-Batch process of those actions on each of the terrain tiles via Photoshop (Took only two minutes).

Then I did the same thing remembering (Writing down actually) the above steps, what opacity and fill I used and how much of the filter was used for the towns and airfields. I think the end result is ok-looking. It doesn't blend perfect but then neither did the original tiles.

For the snowy/icy buildings you see above, I took the two filtered layers I mentioned above and copy/pasted them ontop of the building textures. Then I just cutaway with the poly lasso tool in photoshop where I didn't want ice at sharp angles to get the effect of snow and ice hanging off of the roofs.

All of this is a total hack job I made up on the go...

Smile

I wouldn't expect a Houston boy Wink to know this, but snow doesn't hang from buildings, ice sickles will.
