....or not. After having a medical check-up today got me to thinking about how many of us on this forum would really be up to flying in reality, say for instance in WW2.I would be grounded due to poor eyesight and basically being too old..plus now taking tablets which I was told in a loud voice by a young girl in the drugstore could cause flatulence;which of course makes a lot of turbulence LOL. Judging only by appearances I would be confident that Argon V could perhaps take to the air ;at least he has age on his side!We are all so lucky to have Fighter Squadron and this great forum.Keep on flying...

Ah, I'm nearly 26!! Much older than most WW2 pilots/gunners. Wink I've never taken flying lessons, want to one day. Maybe in a Spit or a P-51. Big Grin My eyesight is giving out on me slowly... Too much time spent on the PC, flying sims! Laugh

At 45 and with glasses,

I don't think any air force would have me! That said, I have plans to make us all look fit to fly, but am starting with a very small group. ArgonV, I'm looking your way (you know what I mean!).

At 55 and with glasses, I have to stuggle hard not to get blasted out of the sky flying SDOE and IL-2 .... Poke Tounge. So I have no ambitions what so ever to try real piloting.

I could have done it at 19 but now my vision and age would keep me from combat. I'd probably be an instructor

I would be a mad scientist ... rather scary.
Luckily, there's the virtuality of SDOE.

Obviously without my leg in plaster, I'd be up there no problem Smile

The advantage of my advancing years is that I can't remember all the things that would stop me flying.

To open up this topic a little further has anyone here done any flying?
I have 8 (and counting) hrs in a tomahawk since I decided to take up flying at the beginning of the year.

I was in the Civil Air Patrol, in ground school when I developed a medical condition that prevented me from flying... (At the time I was 15 nearing my 16th birthday)
