My Logitech Wingman joystick needs to be replaced (the rudder axis never worked properly). My MS Sidewinder joystick has, alas!, mysteriously disappeared (I blame the Red Baron!). And I thashed my Thrustmaster Wireless Gamepad as the "HID" software disagreed with my system and it had latency problems, too.

Thus I need a new joystick or gamepad. Is anyone happily using a not-too-expensive gamepad for flying? If so, which one?

My joystick alternative is the Saitek Cyborg Evo, which many of you have used.

PS: The MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro that was mentioned in another thread does not seem to be on the market anymore?

Hello!

MS no longer makes gaming hardware... Sad Sad but true. Do you own the Saitek Evo or are you looking to buy one? I don't fly with a gamepad, instead I use my HOTAS Cougar and/or my Saitek Avi8or. I would recommend a joystick over a gamepad. More accurate for flying and shooting.

Thank you.

I'm thinking of buying one, it looks OK, many on these forums like it, and it's ~300 DKK (=€40) for the not Force, not wireless version, that's OK.

IIRC my Sidewinder joystick would be fine too, but I haven't seen it for years.

I have a Microsoft SideWinder Precision 2, gave it to the wife for flying. Smile

i use my wireless xbox 360 gamepad and it rocks! (only on first person shooters and racing games.) I stil use my TM joysticks for all my flight sims. (i really enjoy my WW2 MOD on my FCS).

Thanks to ArgonV and Razer for advising. I ordered the Saitek Cyborg Evo stick and expect it to arrive in tomorrow's mail Smile

PS: The lady in this house flies only dragons and such (in WoW), doable with a mouse.

A good choice! Probably the best stick for the price - I have tried the Saitek X -45 - but have returned to the Evo för SDOE and other military flight sims. Poke Tounge
