Get it in the Downloads section at ModDB:
http://www.moddb.com/games/fighter-squadron-screamin-demons-over-europe/downloads/british-expansion-planepack-v20

Highlights include Horsas that no longer CTD, a Walrus that no longer CTDs, and a new plane, the Blenheim IF. See the install itself (and the readme in the PlaneInfo folder) for details.

As usual, the bulk of the work was by ArgonV. Testing (and the Blenheim IF) was done by Skid. Coordination, skins and general cleanup was by yours truly.

Enjoy!

Thanks 3dp.

For Argon, what was the secret to fixing the Walrus CTD problem? Many have tried and failed!

A huge combination of things... There were some bad 3d meshes (I can't remember which ones) that gave the game's graphics engine a hard time as well as some bad DM code in the tail section and engine section. The Horsas had some bad DM code with the tail section too...

Nicely done. I wish SR were here to say "merci" as well; he'd be most appreciative.

The full list of changes . . .

NEW

- Blenheim IF by Skid, based on SR's original, with some additional work by ArgonV, skin by 3dp.

- Spitfire IX Floatplane by Mace.

CHANGES

- Horsa I and II: No longer cause CTDs upon destruction and revised skins.

- Beaufort: Fixed the rear turret flickering, the poor fuselage shading in the rear, the flickering when viewed from a distance, the loadouts so the correct bombs are there, the nav lights so you can see them at night, some texture sizing in the cockpit so the textures show up better. Adjusted the lower gun view so you don't clip through the walls when rotating the gun. Created a slew of Training missions using the BP stock format.

- Walrus: No longer causes a CTD upon destruction.

- New 'rough edge' Hangar shots.

- Many skins tweaked in some minor way (lightened, a little weathering, etc.).

- Blenheim I: Loadout tweaked.

- Plane names standardized.

- Blenheim I: Revised loadout copy by PV.

- Blenheim IV: revised loadout copy by PV.

I rather think that someone has redone the loadout copy, doing a much better job than what I did, which was just to provide a better translation of the original french text. Looking at the text on the sample image at the ModDB site, some further research has been done, and a proper rewrite constructed, but not by me.

PV, the loadout copy looks different beacuse it's for the new Blenhiem IF Smile The only changes I made to the Blenheim loadouts was to stop the turret gun vanishing with a certain combination of bombs and rockets.

Credit for the IF text should really go to William Green as I borrowed it (with minor tweaks) from Vol. 2 of his excellent War Planes Of The Second World War series of books.
