Hi,
I found that Fighter Squadron: Screamin' Demons Over Europe can now be downloaded for nothing (FREE!) at http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/30874, weather this is in copyright vilation, I wouldn't know as the current copyright status of FS:SODE wasn't stated on that page, and I don't know personally.
But, the download does have all the patches, fixes and expansions already applied this install, plus it installs ready-to-use on Windows XP SP-2, and I'm all for giving the future generations the experinces that we had in the past.
(I was supprised the other day to find a NEW legal copy of Combat Flight Simulator 1 in a games store.) _________________ Damn, I missed SF: SDOE as I was playing CFS-1, CFS-2 and EAW the whole time and awoke 3 years later to find SF: SDOE, which now has no servers, damn, I soo wanted to kill someone with my B-17F skills, damn. |

Thanks for the news mate!! I'm glad you were able to get ahold of the game.. I really don't think too many corp execs care for SDOE anymore so good on you that you got ahold of the sim!
Try downloading Hyperlobby and you may run into a few players. _________________ 'Go Fly A Kite!'

Yeah, it includes the original CD, and pre-applied patches, it took me 39 hours to download, but I am a stickler for old stuff, one of my hobbies is collecting old software - I know that sounds like I don't care about copyrights, but if someone doesn't save it to an archive for preservation it just dissapears for forever.
And roger, wilco, I'll track down a copy of this HyperLobby.
Man, I wasted so much time on CFS, when I wanted to be manning and flying B-17Fs, they had them in CFS-1, under the unflyable category though. Geez, I loved B-17 II: The Mighty Eight, but no Multiplayer!@! _________________ Damn, I missed SF: SDOE as I was playing CFS-1, CFS-2 and EAW the whole time and awoke 3 years later to find SF: SDOE, which now has no servers, damn, I soo wanted to kill someone with my B-17F skills, damn. |

I too downloaded it. Works fine on my machine in Kansas City but get CTD on my machine in Omaha. The CTD happens when I select a test flight, game comes up but when the cockpit shows up I get the CTD.

I downloaded THE WHOLE GAME including WW1 and WW2 with every community update from the last ten years, in one installer package (which even applies win98 compatability mode as well automatically !!!!!) - absolutely amazing installer package, beautifully made and works a treat...try isohunt, or 'the pirate bay' for the torrent...just search 'Fighter Squadron' - the torrent is about 2.5 gigs, comes as an iso, and if you have 'power iso' the program, you can burn direct to dvd and 'hey presto'
well done to whoever is responsible for this...absolutely amazing. |
