Well for one the muzzle velocity was pretty high, considering the info Mossie included in RS's own AA guns information, I turned the muzzle velocity down to about 70% of the original. And added my own secret properties discovery. Cool

Good to know about the MV! Did you do it for both German and Brit AA? I thought I had the right values, but I guess not. Wink

I did end up fixing the CoG for the Rumpler. Had to reposition all of the child objects, the fuse inertia box, fuse body points, wheel points and the 3d shadow.

I am using the all-in-one install with plane pack 5 added.
When flying the first German Folker airplane in the list, trimming the ailerons, cockpit view, right arrow, causes an immediate CTD. This was a very common bug with nearly every plane in the earlier version of this sim, from the aussie DVD install.
The Folker is the only one that does this out of about 10 planes I have tried so far. I am enjoying this sim and not quite used to flying so slowly.

Hello!

Yes, this is a known bug with the Fokker Dr.1a. Sadly, I have been unable to fix it as it has to do with the multi-skin option this particular aircraft has. I haven't tried trim in all aircraft (Most didn't have trim in real life), but I think this is the only one with this issue now.

Thanks ArgonV for your answer.

My great uncle was shot down and killed in August 1918. He was an observer and another guy flew the plane. So this sim has some extra meaning for me. It seems far more stable than the aussie DVD FS1 that I tried, that really did CTD a lot but I found ways to deal with it.

I see your name everywhere here so I think you are doing the heavy lifting.

Thanks,
TPlummer

You're welcome sir!

FS-WWI Plane Pack 5 and Patch have come a long way since the Aussie release. We found many of the CTD causes, and fixed a ton of other bugs. Before the AI could not even dogfight all that great or take off without crashing into the ground!

I have been around in the community for a very long time and have had my hand in many aspects of this sim. FS-WWI is one of the things on the PC I love to tinker with! I'll probably never fully stop...

Very sorry to hear about your great uncle. A very brave man to partake in air combat of the day!

If you can believe it:

I had a gent contact me at Combat Ace via a private message, saying how much he was enjoying FS-WWI. He noticed when he was flying around in the Bristol F.2b the other day that some of the gauges weren't rotating properly or reporting any where near accurately. I had a look and sure enough! So I fixed the DOFs in the SM and will send it to him for testing.

Ok, that issue is fixed! I also noticed today while flying around in the Sopwith Triplane that the cockpit shows up black. I quickly texture mapped that. I can't believe these bugs went so long unreported. Wink

Howdy! I have a few pre-wars that you have sent me but I haven't had any time as of late to get them imported properly and coded in OpenPlane Studio. I would love some more early-war era aircraft also, the Voisin has been on my wish-list for ages. Please do send them my way, this may be the push I need to get back into FS-WWI!
