This is number 19 (and we aren't dead yet- feeble but not dead Wink ) For a flight sim, that is ancient.
*Drinks root beer, smashes mug on front of PBY, accidentally launching it.*

Hey it floats MH said that couldn't be! Wink

Holy cow has it been that long? I remember when I first read about this sim in a computer gaming mag. SDOE, EAW, Luftwaffe Commander and WW2 Fighters were being covered. I even think there was mention of Nations Fighter Command and Confirmed Kill! What drew me to it was the ability to fly heavies and man the gunner positions. One of my favorite things to this day! Ah those were the good ole days...

The years have not been too kind to this old bird, but she's still up in there air! Albeit with the help from several grease-monkeys. Wink

I was just going through the internet archive and reading about all of the contest stuff, as well as the planes listed on Flightline. Man those were exciting times!

19 years? Not sure what the multiplier is for flight sim aging, but if we use seven as we do to convert dog years into human years, this is one very elderly sim. Happy birthday old girl. And good to see a few of the old stalwarts still hanging around.

In the terms of computer software lifespan its about 3-4 lifespans. In terms of modern software the difference is the lack of particle graphics, a more fully functional mission editor (along the lines of IL2) and a dynamic campaign (along the lines of Falcon 4).

In terms of flexibility, as far as I know, no one can touch it even today.
