Can you believe I have not ordered anything new for my system since Nov of 2014? Surprised

My i7 920 OC is getting a tad long in the tooth... But is still rocking!

The only things I added are a 4K capable monitor and a Blu-ray RW.

Most new games are console port and our PCs are still more powerful then the average console.

I just added a 275GB SSD, makes booting a whole lot quicker, but
also image editing 200MB files goes much quicker as well.

Only odd thing, on my W7 OS, it shows as a removable SCSI drive,
which means I have to be careful using the eject device button
not to unload my OS drive. It's SATA, not USB, but shows up where
all the external USB things do, besides showing as the new C: drive
in file manager.

Wow excellent! I have yet to get an SSD for my system. Still running 10k rpm drives. Odd about showing it as hot-swappable... Yikes be careful when ejecting! Does SDOE load super fast now?

It probably would, but I haven't tried it yet. I have a bunch of
terrain work for BoB2 that I have got built up that I'm trying
to get through, which occupies all my hobby time at the moment.
Gimp comes up amazingly fast with a 200MB .xcf file loading.
BoB2 still takes a while to load the 3D, apparently this is to do
with carving a memory space and unpacking all the audio files
into it, according to one of the BDG guys who investigated it. Can
take as long as 15 seconds, when it's doing the first load of a new
terrain fileset I've built.
