I know, "Jade's Playpen" is not the best description for this. But I still want to share this incident with you:

A frew days ago, an old JU-52 has crashed into terrain in Swizerland, having 20 passengers on board. No one survived.

The plane was flying for "JU-AIR", a Swiss company that operates a few of these old birds for sight seeing in the Alps.

The plane hit the ground vertical, coming out of an unremarkable level-flight. No evidence was found for any technical issue yet.

We all love to see these old birds flying in the sky, but it calls an obvious question: When do we enter a time, when an old lady should keep on ground? How many years will we be able to keep those planes airborne?

100? 150? 200?

I have only found one page in English about this incident:

Oh very very sad! There was an incident involving a classic Douglas C-47 here in Texas the other week for a fly-in to Oshkosh:
