2013 and Windows 8 will not be the end of SDOE! Runs great and no installation problems, except my stick (old Cyborg Evo) not working well. So even if we do not see many new add-ons we can fly into the future. Cliffs of Dover has more problems with Windows 8, you cannot start it in win 8 without a fix from the community, and on my rigg it is lagging and stuttering. It ran smooth on Win 7 ....

Well, the mic jack on my 10 year old Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS card died late last year... And I had the budget to pick up a Sound Blaster ZxR on Friday! Happy It's installed, and I'm in the process of setting up the mixer and SBX settings. Also, my Razer eXact mat was giving me fits with my new Corsair M60 mouse because it has been dinged and scratched to heck... So I picked up on Friday a Corsair MM600 mat.

I got the XFX 7970 Ghz card back a couple of months ago. It seems to be behaving well.

On Friday I ordered this as a birthday gift to myself with the help of other's monetary gifts:

Just assembled

With stick and speaker mounts

Different angle

Flying again at last!

My old chair was getting old and wobbly. Plus the padding was shot and I was tired of something that swiveled... This Playseat Flight is MUCH more comfortable!

Thank you sirs! It has been a long time coming... Bits and pieces bought here and there, and all pretty much documented here on this site (I couldn't find where I made the office chair with speaker mounts and HOTAS mounts but I think that was around 2006 or so). I think the next thing I'm going to get is the floor mat Playseat makes so the chair can sit on that and not tear up my carpet when I slide it back and fourth...

This rig has been an ongoing project since, well, since for about 10 years. I did not build it all at once... If I had to estimate the total cost of components that exist now it would be over $5,000 U.S. - and that doesn't include past parts that I've upgraded on from! The monitors, displayport cables and monitor stand alone were about $1400ish, and this chair without the HOTAS Cougar or speakers was $550.

This chair also allows for a steering wheel or flight yoke to be mounted in the center. I hooked up my Logitech Driving Force Pro and had some fun with GT Legends! And my wife did too. Wink
