All of my SDOE sites have now finished the migration to Freewebs (screw Tripod!). The new addresses are as follows:

RAF Harkness
http://freewebs.com/rafh/rafh/index.html

RAF Harkness - Fighter Command
http://freewebs.com/rafh/rafhfc/index.html

RNAS Harkness
http://freewebs.com/rafh/rnash/rnas_harkness.html

They are much thinner than they used be thanks to many of my skins now being the default ones thanks to the Legacy Packs, and many of the desert ones moving to the new Desert Skin Pack.

Nevertheless, there are a couple treats. At the main site, there is a new desert South African Air Force Blenheim IV, and the RNZAF Catalina skin resurfaces as well in a slightly improved form.

Request: Would whoever oversees the We Links section here at OPS please update my links in it to the links above? Thanks!

I'll update mine as well. Hey 3dp, I have a question about freewebs. I built my site with Frontpage and see that freewebs does not support FP exptensions. So I figured I'd just FTP the site but see you have to pay for FTP? So how did you move your site? Did you pay for the FTP, upload the pages 1 by 1 for free or do something else?

Thanks in advance, I've just about had enough of tripod and its ads as well.

File by painful file!

I am a cheapskate when it comes to paying for webspace but Tripod deleting my Fighter Command site with no explanation was the last straw. $10 (or $12, I forget) a year got Freewebs' '50 file limit' (not advertised but I was warned about it by HB) lifted and perhaps more webspace (I forget). I was not willing to go further.

I build my sites by straight HTML coding, so I have no extensions issues. By keeping my paths relative rather than absolute, I can just upload my files one at a time with no difficulty. It's tedious, but by doing it in small doses, I was able to get through it.

BS, Freewebs does support Frontpage websites. What it doesnt support is the Frontpage tool that allows you to upload directly to the host and upload your files.

So I can still upload it one by one I suppose lol. Or just pay for FTP access.
