Just to clarify some things up:

There is a lot of talk about copyrights these days. I would like it to be known publicly that each creation in any form from any of the FS-WWI Development team members is owned by them via an inherited copyright at the time of creation. If you wish to edit these works privately please give credit where credit is due. If you wish to post them for download, display the work(s) in screen shots or use them in any way public PLEASE ask the original author(s) permission before doing so. ANY FS-WWI material cannot under any circumstances be used in a commercial venture or in any form of profit yielding medium. If the original author(s) cannot be contacted, please contact me and I personally will attempt to contact the author(s) or judge for myself based on the inherited copyright to me by distribution of the creation(s).

Let me please add,

Builders when you make a plane put a comment in the .sm file as to your name and an email that (hopefully) will be valid for a while. If you make a mod, you will be able to see in the .sm file who built the plane. If you (the builder want to transfer ownership, like I did with the PBY, you must make a post (Moe we may want to add a forum. We can list known owners and post transferrals.) This post must stay on the board for a minimum of 31 days for it to be legal. (I did a great deal of research into this before transferring the PBY...).

I know of no one in this community who has abused this in the least. But there has been so much work done in WWI, WWII and LDOR and after that the possibility exists. This is a case of trying to close the barn door before the horse gets out... Wink

Generally speaking a "Who built the..." post will get you the answer.

A plane is owned by the builder, not the modder, which is one of the reasons complete rebuilds were done in LDOR (in some cases) though the resources could have been used elsewhere.

If you do not put a copyright notice on your work, be aware that you're only creating confusion, since people can't copy, distribute, or derive a work without the author's consent. A lack of a copyright notice does not grant that consent, it only makes it harder for people to figure out from whom they need to get consent. A lack of a copyright notice does not put the work in the Public Domain.

I'm not sure why Diego bolted from us and seems so bitter when we used his textures for one-in-the-same (SDOE).

Am I missing something, or was there a fall out during Rhinelamd Revamp?
please, someone fill me in. Email me if you feel it appropiate.
