I'm thinking that when the soviet is rolled out, it will be rolled out as a new back pack as a whole and the hi-res skins will be a moved into aircraft folders themselves thus eliminating the need for a stand alone par file for the skins.

The standalone PAR file for the BP hi-res skins needs to exist until the whole BP is updated. The new Soviet BP PAR file presumably has hi-res skins in it (?), so those skins could come out of the BP skin pack. No big deal.

But all the non-Soviet BP planes will still need their hi-res skins, again, until their PAR files are updated, at which time the BP skin pack goes the way of the Legacy Update, freeing up the number.

Hip,

By "the hi-res skins will be a moved into aircraft folders themselves", I assume you mean within their individual BP PAR files, not out into the files structure of the game? That would render skin packs useless with BP planes.

If you're editing, you should delete data20.par "Legacy Update" as it is now superceded.

Unless someone has an objection,

I'm planning to make the next BP update (2d) Data62.par. In these broadband days, the separate hi-res skin pack seems unnecessary so I've rolled it into the BP update itself. This will guarantee that 2d superceeds 2c and the skin pack. I'll put a note into the install that one is free to then delete 60 and 61 if they so desire. It also frees up 60 and 61.

OK,

So I'm an idiot. I will make BP v2d Data61.par to overwrite the hi-res skin pack. Then my note will tell those with v2c installed that they can delete 60 if they like. Simpler that way.

Rends,

Now that v3 (formerly know as v2d) is out, can you update the list to say that 60 is now free (maybe noting that it was once BP v2c) and that 61 is now the BP v3 Update?

Thanks!
