Recon3 just found a bug with the areas around the towns. I forgot to lower the filler tiles and thus objects appear to float when they are placed at the towns! Surprised I just fixed it.

No worries Jerry, just wondering. Smile

I am now done with the mirror tiles surrounding the terrain. Sure adds some depth! Surprised

'Mirror tiles"....are those the ones you see when you're near the 'edge of the world'?

Yup! All they are is a mirror of the terrain that extends out 3 tiles.

Ok lots of updates to report!!! New bridge textures (Included rail tracks and better looking brick), added more hangars for the airfields, fixed take off positions for German airfield 3 (Now named Epinoy), and a few other goodies for the airfields (Lamp posts, crates, a wind sock that moves and a AEC truck).

Currently I'm working on getting damage models made for the WWI buildings. I have them done for the manor house and the barracks for the airfields. I need to do the large brown hangars next.

That is pretty fast work there mate!! Tell me, I haven't seen the whole terrain texture together yet.. But is there a lot of border doubling of pixels? It's very obvious at the front lines that something is wrong either with the mapping of the tiles or the textures themselves.

Not exactly sure what you mean by border doubling. ..... "something is wrong either with the mapping of the tiles or the textures themselves" ...might be both, not sure

Like there are a few rows of pixels that repeat from one tile to the next.

ah...that could be. I remember seeing some tiles like that....and thought maybe 'Untile' didn't do an accurate job. Btw, I'm still painting each tile separately....I didn't figure out the Untile program. (or whatever it's called) If I had I would've tried out the GoogleEarth images gathered.

Ah, well basicly you place all of the SommeSuper textures in the same folder as the Untile program. Then you have to save them all as bmps (Untile only works with bmps. I just used photoshop to script an open and save as bmp to get them all converted quickly). After that, you open up the command prompt and go to that folder mentioned above. Then you type: untile4 sommeSuper 20 20 256. It will then create a master bmp that is all of the textures combined. The Dicer program then can split that up again.

The above statement untile4 sommeSuper 20 20 256 says run until4.exe on the sommeSuper bmps at 20x20 tiles at 256 pixels (The texture size)
