Fingers crossed that I did not gum something up while putting the final touches on!

Find it at http://www.moddb.com/games/fighter-squadron-screamin-demons-over-europe in the downloads section. Things to keep in mind:

- The full Basepack (v2a) is still necessary.

- The Interim BasePack Update (v2c) is now obsolete (it's included in the new update).

- The BasePack Hi-Res skinPack is now obsolete (it's included in the new update). The new update actually overwrites the Hi-Res PAR file (Data61.par).

- If you had the v2c Interim BasePack Update installed, you can safely delete Data60.par after installation of this new update.

- The readme will be in Media/Plane Info. It contains important information about the use of the new Target Indicators. Here's the full thing:

------------------------------

BASEPACK UPDATE v3

After installing this update, be sure to install the latest property files (version 1.17 [ http://www3.telus.net/v1ncent/sdoe/PropertyFixv117.zip ] or later) in order to use the new Target Indicator loadouts noted below. If for some reason the latest property files are not available, add the following to your Startup.ppf file:

"aircraft/weapons/targetindicatorred.sm"
"aircraft/weapons/targetindicatorgrn.sm"

Also, the BasePack Hi-Resolution SkinPack has been worked into this update, rendering the former obsolete. In fact, this update is Data61.par and will overwrite the BasePack Hi-Res Skin Pack.

While the full BasePack, v2.0b, is still required, this update is cumulative with the Interim BasePack Update v2.0c, so the latter is now obsolete. If you are updating from v2.0c, YOU CAN SAFELY DELETE DATA60.PAR after installation of this update.

GENERAL CHANGES

- The Hangar pictures have been revised and given a new 'rough edge' look.

- The Hangar 'stats' have been revised and given an 'index card' look (English only).

- Many squadrons have been added and existing ones have had their graphics improved and their names standardized.

- Many skins have been slightly modified, generally lightened and/or dirtied a bit.

- The plane names have been standardized.

- The page turning sounds have had their volume decreased.

SPECIFIC PLANE CHANGES

- A6M2 'Zeke': The off-center prop has been fixed and it has been given 1024x1024 texture capability (its hi-res skin now looks much better, as do those for the A6M5, D3A2, and Me 262, see below).

- A6M5 'Zeke': Given 1024x1024 skin capability.

- B-17G Flying Fortress: The LOD switching issues have been fixed (the starboard upper wing no longer mirrors the port upper wing at distance and the hubs/spinners are now visible on all props), no more floating glass after certain damage, and the damage model has been tweaked.

- Bf 109E: No longer explodes with overly-strong force and fragile landing gear fixed.

- D3A2 'Val': Given 1024x1024 skin capability.

- Hurricane I: The disconnected windscreen frames have been fixed.

- IL-4: New hi-res skin. Loadout issues, etc. fixed.

- Ju 88A-4: Right rear gun now AI controllable.

- Lancaster I: The damage model has been tweaked and three new loadouts have been added (Target Indicators [TIs] Red, Green, and Sky). The Reds and Greens must be dropped from at least 15000 ft or they'll explode on impact. There are two sets of markers and one of a few regular bombs in each loadout. The TIs will generally land just short of the intended target. Aircraft using them as a guide should bomb accordingly.

- Mosquito FB VI: Red and Green TI loadouts have been added. Unlike the Lancaster with its multiple bays, these loads are just a single set of the relevant marker. It has also been given shrouded engine stacks and its flight model has been tweaked.

- Me 262A-1 'Schwalbe': Given 1024x1024 skin capability.

- P-40F Kittyhawk: The skin has been heavily modified (much less saturated). The loadouts, rack placements, and missing textures for the rear tire/wheel and gap area between the rudder and tail have all been corrected.

- P-47D Thunderbolt: The prop no longer conflicts with the Spitfire IA and the cockpit no longer flickers.

- Spitfire IA: The body shading issue has been fixed.

CREDITS

All of the plane fixes and the Target Indicators are the work of ArgonV. Beta testing was done by Skid. The new squadrons are by Manuel, Mace, and 3dp. Project direction, initial testing, and skin/GUI/PPF work were by 3dp.

Not entirely sure as I'm at work,

But from what I can tell, the ZIP contains a Media folder so it should be unzipped to your main FS directory, probably C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron.

And you're welcome! Glad to know it's appreciated. Smile

K2, the ppfix zip opens to reveal a media folder, so just drag and drop that folder onto the main Fighter Squadron install folder, and it will find the media folder under that and distribute its various bits into their appropriate places within it. You'll know you've done it right as when the zip is being unpacked it will announce it has encountered a folder called media, do you really want to overwrite files in it?
