Sorry to drop in like this, but I'm doing a little software archeology and that got me to thinking...

I recall that ParSoft or one of it's later incarnations gave a copy of the OP code to one of the users of this very system.

Who was that? Are they still around? There was a release wasn't there?

I forget the version number of the last patch from the
original developers, maybe 1.23? Subsequently there
were probably twenty patches or more released, mostly
1.5.xx and 1.6.xx, the current level being 1.6.07 .
All updates to the source were done by VDU, the only
person with official access to the code. He accepted
assistance from several other people, at different times,
and among the things they accomplished was the inclusion
of a full time clock of every minute of the twentieth
century, with a built in fully accurate ephemeris/planetarium
for the entire duration, which correctly displayed sun, moon,
and a few hundred stars for any time you dialed in for a
mission.

Oh yes, I recall the sun and other sky details being added very early after he got access.

Is there a complete version text file anywhere?

Is VDU still out there in the ether?

I don't have an install on this machine, but as I recall, there is a release notes
text file installed with the patch that was simply appended with each release,
so it contains most of the history.

Regarding VDU, he has moderator status for the patch forum; the site shows

Note that 1.6.0.7 was released in 2010, so he was presumably involved in that.
I'm sure Argon knows more about this stuff. He will doubtless be along at
some point.
