Hi.

Am I blind? I really do not see any difference between the two settings.

My hardware, a PC just for "old" games, no internet connection:

DELL OptiPlex 760
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3,33GHz
4 GB DDR2 Ram
Asus Nvidia Geforce GT730 2GB GDDR5
WD VelociRaptor Generation 4
5:4 Monitor, 1280x1024

Is there really no difference between the two settings?
And, when selecting Direct3D, all resolustions are shown twice. Does it ave a reason, like 16 or 32 bit colour?

Howdy there!

I find that my texture quality is better if I'm running the 1.6.0.7 Beta Patch with OpenGL32. In D3d I get texture banding...

The multiple resolutions in D3d I think are a bug, an artifact of the adapters.

This beta patch is only needed when running a widescreen monitor, right?

Or does it affect anything else in the game?

These are the only added features in the Beta Patch:

-Improved Opengl32 renderer to support full screen 32bits rendering
-Shows 32-bit & 16-bit screen resolutions in Display option screen for D3D & OpenGL32
-Adds 16x9 & 16x10 screen resolutions to OpenGL32 renderer (Warning: if you choose a screen resolution not supported by your system, it will crash SDOE)

So it's more than just for widescreen resolutions, it also fixes 32bits on later graphics cards. Smile

Okay, thank you.

In this case, I will use that "new" patch. Or better: The latest patch. Even with a 1280x1024 resolution.

Don't know why, but SDOE still amazes me. Perhaps it brings old memories back, when I was young and wild. Very Happy

Okay, had time for testing during the weekend.

I agree, with the 1.6.0.7 Patch, the difference is clearly visible. Thank you!

Excellent news!

And I agree, this old gal brings me fond memories which is why I still fire her up!

Sadly just have had no time for modding her... :/
