Hello,

Being a SDOE fan , I have got the RC simulator which is fine too. As these 2 games use the same openplane engine, is there a "simple" way to bring the terrains from RC simulator to SDOE and/or the aircrafts from SDOE to
RC simulator ? It would be nice to have the terrains of RC simulator within the SDOE game.

Thanks for all the work you have done for the community.

Sv at Wings with Wires brought an SDOE albatros into RC Simulator ; however he has to change the model scale to 1/3rd and the FM . As with SDOE there is a Openplane Studio and BigMunger tools to open/modify the .sm files so I assume that it could be possible to bring the RC Terrains into the SDOE world without too much pain . Maybe one of the SDOE Gurus at openplanesim.com or Wings with Wires could check that.

How simple is rescaling using the OP editing tools? I've always wanted to rescale the Dover terrain up by x4 in the horizontal, so that it would be the proper size.

What? You don't want to try to land on 200 ft runways? Smile

Man, the floating platforms would be a trip to try to land on/in. Too bad the turbulence from the rotors isn't available in SDOE.

Did any of you find Dallas Alley?

Oops, I guess that can be misconstrued. It's not dynamic turbulence from the passing of an aircraft. On that one field Chad had put in three "thermals" that went down with a lot of velocity below the giant propeller blades that "hold up the field." So it's fixed in place on the map.

On another field, he replicated the area right outside where we worked. We even got the sound guy to write some bad country music Smile

There is no way to resize a terrain with any OPS tools. You need to do it from scratch. Sure you can rescale all the tiles with a 3D modelling tool but you have to change also ALL coordinates of every tile and every other object.

The music! That infernal music!

It really was bad. The bar below us played their country music into the alley every evening starting about 5:00. Besides the fact that it was loud, and it was country. Someone had stolen their CDs and so it was the same CD every day. Every day. So loud. So bad. The torture...

That's Michael. I thought mine was pretty good. I don't have a screenshot handy. Chad's in there, too Smile

Ah yes, those were the days. Laugh
Much quieter these days as all the bars have gone out of business and the pizza place next door threatened legal action against the market place if they didn't shut that country music off.

I take it that no one has taken the time to put thermals into SDOE, huh. Wink
That might be a pretty nifty feature.
